Well... so that happened. I can't help but feel really disappointed in this book. There was so much build up, so many questions asked, so much possibility, only to have nothing happen. This entire book ended up feeling like filler to me. Because Darius and Reagan are together, their love for each other just felt a little flat now. And the story itself felt incredibly anticlimactic. I thought we might get some sort of drama, whether it be between Vlad and Darius (and the insinuation that he had a lot to do with Darius' past and how he found himself in the situation to become a vampire), or Vlad trying to cause a divide between Darius and Reagan ( and I thought for sure that plan would be foiled because Darius could communicate with Reagan via his mind) but that never happened. Then there was the obvious confrontation between Reagan and her father. I hoped for a twist where Lucifer was actually a good man who loved her mother. I hoped he left them to keep Reagan safe, and that the entire story her mom said was just a cover story. Or I hoped Lucifer would at least have some satisfying answers, even if he was evil. How cool would it have been if Reagan was able to defeat him and she and Darius ruled the demons? Basically, I think anything would have been cooler than what happened in this story. Which was a whole lot of nothing. Don't get me wrong, it was nonstop action for a lot of it, it just all felt pointless and after a while, boring. I have to assume more answers will come in Natural Witch, which is about Penny, but I don't feel like I should have to read a new trilogy just to finish this one off. Reagan and Darius' story should have been mostly complete. I still really love Reagan, I love how snarky and fun this series was, I just wished it could have ended stronger and felt more complete.
